KHS Senior Musicians Shine in Competition

We'd like to share some fantastic news from #Kinnelon HS' Music Department.
Mr. Stroud reports that senior Kristen Park was awarded first prize at the prestigious Manhattan International Musical Competition. Kristen will receive the House of Representatives Grace Meng Award and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. She is also invited to perform Haydn's "Oboe Concerto" with a full orchestra at Queens College in January.

Also, KHS Senior Sarah Want auditioned at the Cecilian Young Artists Music Competition on October 16 and was awarded first place in the 17-year-old group by performing, “En Autumne” by Moritz Moszkowski. As a first prize winner, she will receive the honor of performing at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Winners Recital on December 11, 2016. This is a prestigious accomplishment and marks the second year in a row that Sarah has been named the best pianist in her age group in the Tri-State area.

We are very proud of all our students' accomplishments and are honored to have such a talented and inspiring students such as Kristen and Sarah in our Music Department.
