KEHSA Donation to Kiel & Stonybrook Schools

KEHSA Donation to Kiel & Stonybrook Schools

Every year KEHSA works hard through many fundraising programs, to be able to make donations to our Kiel and Stonybrook schools on behalf of our children.  KEHSA has always used money raised to further the educational experience in our schools and enhance our children’s learning atmosphere.  We are proud to announce that we have just made another significant donation to both schools that will enable our children to have rich, varied classroom library collections that put more age appropriate books in their hands today!

Children need to increase “stamina and volume” in both reading and writing in order to grow in these areas.  KEHSA’s contribution will be used towards a Book Program that will increase the number of “just right” books available to each child in the classroom.  This initiative is directly related to the Teacher College Program that our schools are currently involved with and will allow each student to be able to “shop” for books at their just-right levels and have true “book baggies” with enough level-appropriate books in each bag in order grow as readers and writers.  These skills are so important to their future success.  The more reading and writing opportunities we are able to provide to our children now will not only help them to grow individually, but will also help us support the Common Core State Standards in reading and writing and the NJASK.  With KEHSA’s contribution, Kiel and Stonybrook will be able to make a significant increase in the total number of books available to students this year and make sure the proper goals are met before completing the libraries next year.  Without KEHSA’s contribution, this initiative would take up to 5 years to be completed.

KEHSA would like to thank all parents for their continued support of our many fundraising efforts and programs.  Without your support, donations like these would not be possible!
