Ms. Diane DiGiuseppe, Superintendent of Schools

Mission: The Kinnelon Public School District’s mission is to empower students to utilize complex skills to pursue intellectual achievement, personal excellence and social responsibility, which will enable them to positively impact our changing global society.

A Vision for All:  My vision is that learning transfers to life beyond the Kinnelon Public Schools experience. This enables each student to flourish as a responsible citizen in the global community.

I am honored to serve the Kinnelon Public Schools as Superintendent.  I have been in public education for 27 years, starting as a teacher of Biological and Environmental Science for Livingston High School in 1993.  In 2001, I began my involvement with school administration when I was promoted to Supervisor of Science for the Livingston Public Schools.  I enjoyed the seven years I lead a nationally recognized science education program.  In 2008, looking to expand my experience to a district administrative role, I joined Kinnelon Schools as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction where I played an integral role in revamping curriculum and instruction across the district.  In 2012, I assumed the position of Superintendent of Schools.   Since 2008, district student achievement scores have improved in all areas from state testing in grades 3 -11, SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement.  Among achievements too numerous to list here, highlights include our partnerships with Columbia University Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and with Learning Sciences International, two institutions of educational research designed to help educators improve student achievement through their own growth and development.  We revamped the science curriculum and instruction in kindergarten through grade twelve adding course work in Authentic Science Research, participation in the Rutgers University Waksman Student Scholars Program (WSSP) and Dynamics of Health Care Program and offering students the only opportunity in NJ to participate in Barcode of Life.

I am a graduate of Rutgers, The State University of NJ, Cook College; Nova Southeastern University, and the New Jersey Expedited Certification for Educational Leadership (NJEXCEL) through The Foundation for Educational Administration.  Additionally, I have studied at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Princeton University, Montclair State University, and Caldwell College for various certificate programs.
