The Kinnelon Board of Education has approved the following annual non-resident tuition rates for the 2026–2027 school year:

Tuition is paid in installments throughout the school year pursuant to the district’s tuition agreement.

Students residing outside of Kinnelon may apply for admission to Kinnelon Public Schools through the Non-Resident Tuition Program. Admission is considered on an annual basis and depends on several factors, including:

• Available space in grade-level classes

• District staffing and program capacity

• Student academic and behavioral records

• Whether students' needs can be appropriately supported within district resources

Applications are generally reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, although returning tuition students receive preference.

Families interested in enrolling through the Non-Resident Tuition Program should complete the following steps:

1. Complete the Application

Submit the district’s Non-Resident Tuition Application for the upcoming school year. The application requests student information, prior school history, recent report card grades, and additional educational information.

2. Submit Supporting Documentation

Families must provide academic and disciplinary records, including report cards/transcripts and supporting materials requested by the district. High school applicants must also provide official transcripts documenting earned credits.

3. Interview Process

Applicants and parents/guardians will participate in a meeting with the Superintendent or designee as part of the admissions process.

4. Board Approval

If recommended for admission, the application will be presented to the Kinnelon Board of Education for final approval. Families will then complete a Non-Resident Student Tuition Agreement.

All application materials must be submitted electronically via email to the Business Office Administrative Assistant. When sending your application, you must copy the Superintendent's Administrative Assistant as well as the Building Principal of the school your child is planning to enroll in.

Please note:

• Transportation is the responsibility of the family and is not provided by the district.

• Students admitted through the tuition program are expected to follow all district policies, rules, and academic expectations.

• Continued enrollment is contingent upon academic performance, behavior, and tuition payments remaining in good standing.

• Applications are required each school year, even for returning students.
