Pre-College Summer Opportunities
Fordham University offers a variety of immersive summer experiences for high school students, including commuter and residential options. Through the Summer Leaders Academy, students can explore academic disciplines like Pre-Health, Pre-Law, and Real Estate Development while getting a taste of college life.
Students interested in business can participate in one-week programs through the Gabelli School of Business, designed to provide a firsthand look at studying business in college and developing real-world skills.
Select students may also earn college credit by enrolling in undergraduate courses from July 1–August 5.
Montclair State University offers weeklong pre-college programs for high school students, providing an immersive experience in various fields of interest. Participants can choose from a diverse array of subjects, including Animation & VFX, Business Entrepreneurship, Fashion Design, Film and Television Production, Pre-Medical Professions, and more. These programs are designed to give students a taste of college life while exploring potential career paths.
William Paterson University's Jump Start Summer Program allows rising NJ high school juniors and seniors enroll in college-level courses during the summer. This program offers an opportunity to earn college credits and experience the academic rigors of university coursework, providing a head start on college education. This in-person program (July 7 - Aug 14) offers courses in finance, health, digital music, motion graphics, creative writing, and podcasting .

Art of Problem Solving Academy (Virtual)
AMC 10/12 Prep Camp – High School Math Contest Prep (๐ 2 or 4-week options )
Students can boost their problem-solving skills and prepare for top math contests like AMC 10/12 and AIME in this virtual summer course for grades 9-12. Taught by expert instructors using the AoPS curriculum, students develop contest strategies, engage in practice competitions, and refine their mathematical thinking.
โNewark Academy's Summer Program offers both Math Preview and Math Topics courses in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus, designed to enhance students' mathematical understanding during the summer months.โ
Math Preview Courses: These six-week courses cover approximately half of the full academic year's curriculum, providing students with a substantial head start in their upcoming math subjects. โ
Math Topics Courses: For students unable to commit to the full six weeks, three-week Math Topics classes focus on specific areas within each mathematical discipline, offering targeted instruction to strengthen particular skills. โ
Students interested in the advancement courses for credit must follow the KHS procedures for summer math advancement.
Performing Arts Opportunities
High school musicians looking to immerse themselves in jazz this summer can join the William Paterson Summer Jazz Workshop, a weeklong intensive program open to students ages 14+ of all skill levels.
Juilliard History & Appreciation Summer Courses
The Juilliard Extension Division Summer 2025 offers a diverse selection of courses designed for individuals who appreciate the performing arts, whether or not they are professional artists. The History & Appreciation courses provide an in-depth exploration of music history, performance analysis, and influential works across various genres. Offered both in-person and online, these courses include topics such as jazz at the Village Vanguard, classical masterpieces, Broadway musicals, and rock ‘n’ roll history. Many classes are designed to complement Lincoln Center and Juilliard performances, with occasional guest performers joining sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for music enthusiasts to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the arts through Juilliard’s world-class faculty and resources.
Science Research/Technology Opportunities
Inspirit AI Summer Intensive (In-Person at Mountain Lakes High School)
This exciting two-week program introduces high school students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence through hands-on learning in Python and a mentor-guided, socially impactful AI project. Taught by Stanford and MIT graduate students and alumni, the Inspirit AI Summer Intensive offers both beginner and advanced tracks. Students will explore real-world applications of AI while building technical skills in a collaborative environment.
