• Library/Media Center Policies -- PreK to Grade 2

Welcome to the Kiel Library/Media Center!

Kindergarteners, first, and second graders come to the Library/Media Center once a week.  Every other week is a traditional library period.  Each student may borrow one book or periodical at a time.  The resource is due back every other week.  The book or periodical must be returned on your child's library day in order to borrow another item; notices regarding overdue books will be sent home.  (Please, no reserves on books).

On alternating weeks, Kiel students attend the Library/Media Center's computer lab to learn digital literacy and foundations of coding skills.  (Library books are not loaned on "computer lab" weeks).

Kiel's Library/Media Center is "open early" Monday-Friday.  Students can make a book exchange before morning class begins.

All books must be returned or replaced in June to ensure immediate book borrowing privileges at Kiel in September.

In addition, preschool students attend Kiel's Library/Media Center once a week alternating between actively participating in read aloud experiences and actively participating in desktop computer activities.  (Resources are not loaned to preschool students until they enter kindergarten).

Kindly contact me if a book or periodical is misplaced, damaged, or lost.

    Thank you,

    Mrs. Susan Gersten
