Dear Parents,
The pace is
quickening at Stonybrook School. Mrs. Kenney and Mrs. Kelly are
busy working in the front office. Mr. Albanese and the custodial
crew are working hard making final touches in order to make our
building shine! The teachers and the entire staff are anxiously
awaiting the arrival of the children. Plans are being made and conversations
are beginning.
I would like
to take this opportunity to provide important reminders and information.
Taken alone, they seem small, but taken together they contribute
to a safe and healthy environment for children and adults alike.
For many this will be a review. Thank you, in advance, for adhering
to these policies.
- Drop-off
- Cars should enter the driveway and follow signs for student
drop offs. The drop-off area is at the end of the front wing of
the school near the garden, to the right of the building. Please
do not drop your children off before 8:55, since there will be
no supervision until that time.
- Locked
Doors - All doors to the building, except the front door,
will be locked every morning by 9:15. If your child arrives after
9:05 he/she is considered late and will need to report to the
nurse's office for a late pass. This is necessary for accurate
attendance reporting.
- Sign-in
- We love visitors and volunteers, but we must know who is in
the building at all times. If you visit the building during the
day, PLEASE be sure to sign in at the office and to wear a visitor's
sticker or badge. And, of course, please return your badge at
the end of your visit and remember to sign out.
- Pick-up
at dismissal - Please send a note, or a pink pick up slip
(which will be provided to you) to your child's teacher. The appropriate
parking area is the parking lot to the right of the building,
adjacent to the playground. Please report to the cafeteria to
sign your child out by 3:10.
Savor each
moment of these long summer days with your children and families.
Take a little extra time in the morning and at the end of the day
to listen to enjoy the warmth of the sun, linger over the table
or the campfire, and to read a good book together. I look forward
to seeing you soon!
