Route Information
Snow
Routes are established for areas in Kinnelon where buses cannot safely
travel in inclement weather. The Kinnelon Public Schools website will
provide you with school closing information and snow route information
or you can call your child's school. A message will be incorporated
in the greeting at these numbers.

Please
listen carefully to the "ENTIRE" snow message on the answering
machine at your child's school. This message will also indicate if snow
routes are in effect for Smoke Rise Only or for the Entire District.
Below is a list of television/radio stations we will be using during any
snow storm/emergency: FOX TV - Channel 5; NEWS 12 New Jersey (TV Station);
Radio Station WOR-AM-710; Radio Station WCBS News Radio 88; WABC-TV-Channel

Please also note the
following information:
- Follow the same
procedure as listed above if:
a. A
storm develops during the day or if the weather is questionable.
b. To find out if snow routes are in effect or cancelled for the afternoon
dismissal.
- In the event of
a "DELAYED OPENING" snow routes will automatically
be in effect. Students will board their bus at the 'SNOW ROUTE DESIGNATION"
1 ½ hours later than their regular scheduled time.
- Whenever
a snow route is in effect for the afternoon dismissal, it is automatically
in effect for the next morning.
- When dropping
off or picking up children at the "snow route area" please:
A) Leave the intersection
clear
B) Do not obstruct the roadway
C) Leave enough room for the bus to turn around
D) Do not drive away until ALL the buses have left the area.
E) Carpool whenever possible
