Kinnelon School
District
Programs for Children with Disabilities
Project Child Find
is a community-wide activity conducted by Kinnelon Public Schools to increase
public awareness in locating and identifying children ages 3 through 21
who may have a developmental delay or disability.
The Kinnelon School
District is asking parents, educators, and members of local organizations
to assist in locating preschool children with special needs. These special
needs may include delays in the areas of speech and language, cognitive
functioning, social and emotional skills, or problems with vision or hearing.
The district offers free services to determine if the child is eligible
for a preschool disabled program. In Kinnelon we believe that the early
identification and intervention are important prerequisites for future
success within the school setting.
The preschool disabled
program provides students with speech and language stimulation, individualized
instruction, and a variety of hands-on experiences which take place in
a child-centered environment. Preschool children, eligible for the program,
attend at no expense to parents or guardians.
Do you know a preschool
child who:
¢ Has problems
communicating?
¢ Has difficulty understanding directions?
¢ Has poor coordination, appears clumsy or awkward?
¢ Has frequent temper tantrums?
¢ Has a problem hearing sounds or seems unusually quiet?
¢ Is experiencing delays in any area of development?
If so, the Kinnelon
Preschool Disabled Program may be able to help. Please don't wait, call
today for more information.
If you are a resident
