Welcome
to the Special Services' website. Kinnelon Special Services provides a
continuum of programs, placements and related services to meet the needs
of children who are eligible to receive special education services. The
Preschool Disabled Program is a half-day program for children between
the ages of three and five who are experiencing developmental delays in
motor skills, social-emotional behavior, cognitive abilities, and/or speech
and language development.
There
is also a broad range of special education programs in each school in
Kinnelon for students in grades K-12. Programs include resource center
instruction and self-contained classes. The Self-Contained Program provides
a structured learning environment in which instruction is individualized
to meet the needs of the student. A variety of Resource Center options
have been developed to include both support and replacement instruction.
Resource Center teachers provide direct instruction in various content
areas as well as assistance in developing organizational skills and learning
strategies.
