Welcome to the Glenn L. Sisco School!

Parent School Climate Survey

Our district is participating in the Developing Safe and Civil Schools Project, designed to help improve academic performance, social-emotional growth, and non-violent conflict resolution in our students.

The purpose of this survey is to determine areas for improvement in your child's school, not to find fault with any particular department, area, or individual. For more information and to complete the survey, please click the link below.

The Glenn Sisco School is our kindergarten center, which is currently addressing the needs of 122 students. This welcoming environment encourages children to explore the world around them in a developmentally appropriate way through meaningful student and teacher directed activities. Every kindergartner is expected to learn a core set of skills and strategies involving language arts, math, science, social studies, art, music, and comprehensive health and physical education. In addition, we place a very strong emphasis on character education addressing one specific trait each month.

We currently have a team of seven kindergarten teachers, a school nurse, an ESL teacher, Enrichment for All teacher and a Guided Study Teacher addressing the literacy and math needs of our students. Every student is also given the opportunity to receive art, music and media/library instruction from specialized teachers once a week and physical education instruction twice a week. In addition, our students utilize the Kiel School facility, which features a state-of-the-art library media center and a colorful area for performing arts and physical education.

Teachers and parents work together to ensure a positive and productive kindergarten school experience for all students at the Glenn L. Sisco School. The teaching staff is committed to fostering a warm, caring and exciting environment where students attain high standards and develop a positive attitude about school. Parent volunteers assist in the daily, weekly and monthly activities at school to enhance everyday learning experiences.

We are very proud to welcome you to this environment where teachers, parents, and community members communicate openly and work together to foster the positive development of enthusiastic lifelong learners.
