Referral Process

Parental Referral
Parents who are concerned about any aspect of their child's educational program, emotional development, or behavior are encouraged to contact the school counselor.

Student Self Referral
Any student who wishes to speak with the school counselor is encouraged to do so. Students are simply required to obtain a pass from their regular classroom teachers before making such a visit. Students are encouraged to meet with counselors during their cycle courses, physical education, lunch, etc.

Staff Referral
Any staff member who notices a marked change in a student's behavior, mood, or attitude, is encouraged to refer that student to a school counselor.

Confidentiality
Meetings with students and parents are kept strictly confidential, except when it is believed that a child's safety could be compromised.
