"Inspire A Dream" Career Day

On Wednesday, February 4th, the eighth grade students participated in a Career Day. Throughout the morning, students listened to professionals from many different career fields. Each student had the opportunity to become familiar with 6 different careers. Overall, there were 18 different speakers for the morning. Some of the careers represented at the Career Day included a financial planner, an attorney, a theater stagehand, mental health counselor, FBI agent, health inspector, a sales automotive, realtor, police officer, health educator, and a variety of doctors, including a pediatric doctor, dentist, optometrist, nurse, emergency room physician, and veterinarian. The speakers gave the students an overview of the job, educational and skill requirements, discussed some highlights of the profession and answered any questions students had about the career. Each speaker was escorted by a Peer Advocate Member from classroom to classroom. We are grateful for all the staff and presenters who helped make the Career Day a great success.
