Student Artwork

The first grade students at Kiel School created African Animal Silhouettes. They drew their animals with detail and then cut a silhouette shape out of black paper. They painted the sunset blending warm colors of red and yellow. Finally, they glued their silhouettes onto a sunset background. This lesson was a study of shape, color, line and contrast. Below the silhouettes are samples of the second grader's study of Van Gogh, and their Still Life paintings from real sunflowers. Visit The Vincent Van Gogh Gallery for information about his work, "Sunflowers".
