I Welcome – Meeting called to order at 7:40 PM

II 2008-09 Budget Presentations – James Opiekun/Alice Robinson

  • Election Day for the Budget and School Board Elections will be held on April 15, 2008. Please note the following website can provide all forms necessary to register and/or obtain absentee ballots, www.morriselections.org.

III. Principal’s Report – Dr. Merckling

  • Midwinter concert with Americana Theme was a huge success.
  • Talent Show
  • Mr. Kinnelon – April 17th
  • Senior Career Shadowing day – April 24th
  • World Language Honor Society Induction – April 24th
  • Congratulations to Chelsea Carlson who won first place in The NJ State Conservation Poster contest.
  • Congratulations to Britanny Powell who was selected to All-State Chorus for the 2008-2009 school years.
  • Congratulations to ninth grade Destination Imagination team who placed second in the state and will be participating in the national finals in May.
  • Congratulations to Marketing students who won the 2008 NJ Business Idea Competition presented by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies at FDU.

IV Treasurer’s Report – Sue Clark

V. Carnival – Mary Hanley

  • June 5th, 6th & 7th
  • Need volunteers for the game booths and ticket booth.

VI Project Graduation – Colleen Bauer

  • Outback Steak House fundraiser was a huge success. Provided by Mr. Bill Jablonski – owner and valued member of our community

VII Education Matters – Kathy Flood

  • Phone chain in place
  • April 15th – Board of Education and School Budget Vote.

VIII Scholarships

  • Home and School received 19 applicants for their scholarship
  • Matthew Yarnell Memorial Scholarship due April 16, 2008.
  • Mayada Jafar Scholarship due April 23, 2008.

IX Other Business

  • Teacher’s luncheon coordinated by Ellen Fry was a success
  • Guidance luncheon was greatly appreciated
  • Teacher wish list

The next meeting will be on Tuesday May 13th at 7:30 in the KHS Media Center.
