Our hope is that parents will take advantage of the busing provided by the district and that drop offs will only be made in the case of an emergency. There is limited access for drop-offs atour schools and traffic gets congested if too many parents drive their children to school! KIEL SCHOOL - Due to the increase in the amount of buses, and the opening of the Glenn L. Sisco School, we are making a change to our AM Drop Off Procedure. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MAIN DRIVEWAY IS FOR BUSES ONLY. When drop offs are absolutely necessary for 1st and 2nd graders, parents should enter the Pearl R. Miller driveway and pull around to the stairway that leads to Kiel School. The children should walk down the stairs toward Kiel School. All cars should immediately exit driveway in order not to create a grid lock situation. Teachers will be on duty to ensure the safety of the children. In the event of inclement weather (heavy down-pour or snow) parents should enter the Kiel School driveway next to Pearl R. Miller School. Drop offs will occur by the side door of Kiel School. Teachers will be on duty to ensure safety. STONYBROOK SCHOOL - When drop offs are absolutely necessary, cars should enter the driveway and follow signs for student drop offs. The drop off area is at the end of the front wing of the school near the garden. Students may not be dropped off until 8:55 A.M. because there is no supervision available until that time.
For the safety of your children, you are requested not to pass the school buses on school property. If you must pick up your child after school, park your car in the appropriate area and meet your child in the Stonybrook Nurse's office or Kiel School cafeteria. STONYBROOK SCHOOL - The appropriate parking area is the first parking lot on the right. When you need to pick up your child at dismissal time, a note should be sent to the teacher and the person picking up the student must report to the nurses office to sign the child out. Do not call the school after 2:00 P.M. to request your child be held at school unless it is an emergency. All pick-ups will be held in the nurses office while busses are loading and pulling out of the driveway. Therefore, please pick up your child between 3:10 and 3:15 to avoid delays. KIEL SCHOOL - The appropriate parking area is in the front of the Pearl R. Miller School parking lot. No cars will be permitted in the Kiel driveway between 3:05 3:30 PM. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE RELEASED WHILE BUSES ARE LOADING AND EXITING THE SCHOOL PROPERTY. Therefore, we suggest that you please pick up your child between 3:10 and 3:20 to avoid delays. Children must bring in a note each and every day they are being picked up. Please include the following information on all notes:
Unless we obtain a written request from you stating other wise, your child will not be permitted to deviate from the manner he/she arrives or departs from school. In other words, if he/she will be picked up by you or someone else or is to remain after school for a township recreation program, or other such program, we must receive this request in writing. Such verbal requests on the part of the child will not be recognized. If your child does not have a note to remain after school, he/she will be sent home as usual.
