Short
Bio: Mr. Hynes has blended his experiences in the brokerage
industry and the high school classroom to form a unique perspective
on the role of educators in the 21st century. His instructional
approach has been strongly influenced by his years as a special
education teacher, where he realized the importance of appealing
to the learning style of the student. This commitment to maximizing
student engagement was demonstrated in the methods he utilized
while teaching social studies as a general education teacher.
In 1996 Mr. Hynes assumed the position of vice-principal of
Palisades Park Junior/Senior High School and was appointed
principal in 1997. He served in this capacity until December
of 2002, when he was named principal of Pearl R. Miller School.
His recent appointment to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum
and Instruction will allow him to take a broader view of the
programs and strategies that contribute to a quality K-12
education.
