Brett
Emerges As PRM Geography Bee Champ
The
National Geography Bee is a nation wide event that is held in thousands
of schools across the United States. All students at PRM participated
in the first round which was held in each social studies class. The
questions ranged from United States geography to world culture. The
top scorers after seven rounds then advanced to the 2nd round which
was held after school.
In this round the difficulty level of questions increased and students
used a map of the United States as well as their world knowledge to
answer challenging questions. After an impressive battle for third place,
Charles P. was awarded third place. Justin B. and Brett D. battled for
first and Brett was named Pearl R. Miller's champion. All students who
participated should be acknowledged for their commendable efforts in
the annual competition.
Brett took a 70 question multiple choice test which will be sent in
and evaluated. This written examination will determine state competitors.
If he is one of the top scorers in New Jersey, he will compete at the
state level. Brett has a chance to win a 25,000 scholarship and compete
in Washington D.C. in May. Good Luck Brett!
